Food Smoking


This fun day on food smoking is run for us by Richard Muirhead a winner of 12 Gold Great Taste Awards for his smoked food. Aimed at anyone who is interested in the smoking of fish, meat or vegetables or just something different to try during your stay it is a basic introduction which explains raw material selection and preparation as well as how to smoke food.

Richard will use a selection of outdoor smokers as well as our Webber BBQ, he will also give you some ideas about building one when you get back home!!

Price: £15 per person for guests staying at the cottage

Start: 10.30am.

Finish: 2.30pm.

Dates: Usually run on a weekday during your stay as cottage change over is a Saturday

How to book: If you are interested in the smoking day then please contact us prior to booking so we can check Richard is available during your stay. Payment will be taken at the time of booking.

"I have just bought a mini smoker and am so impressed with the product i had to write a review. the smoker is so much easyer and more home friendly than I initially thought it was going to be, and makes the flavour of food amazing and just right for my tastes. this is quite the complete package for food lovers as myself and i find using the smoker interesting because of the different flavours of wood chips you can use, so experimentation is quite endless with the different combinations of food you can smoke. The whole experience of cooking with my mini smoker has added such alot more self gratification to my meals i cook for the family also because i am in control of the taste of the end product and have not had a bad comment from any of my family which is good considering how picky they can be".
