"A lovely warm welcome to this beautiful newly renovated holiday cottage. A very comfortable stay - very well equipped - like home from home. Would use the accommodation again if in the area".

Games Room & Home Cinema

hometheat2.jpg

We have converted an adjacent building into a home cinema room with a HiFi DVD player with surround sound, this projects onto a 200cm (6Ft) cinema projection screen. Also connected is a Nintendo Wii which is WiFi enabled to allow BBC iPlayer to be shown.

The cinema room has a full blackout so you can use the system at any time, heating, emergency lighting and bean bags & chairs to allow upto 6 people to watch a movie. We built the room because we know its difficult to find things to do on a cold wet day in the Lake District especially for kids - this room will certainly keep them busy and the Wii in particular has been a big hit with all our younger guests. The cottage also has a selection of more traditional games which can be played in the room.

Thre is also a WiFi internet connection so you can use your laptops etc in the room.

It looks out onto the rear patio and seating area so with the BBQ handy its great for eating in if its a little chilly or wet.

"We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Brackenber Cottage the children particularly enjoyed using the games room" Susan & Family from Aberdeen

"The cottage was clean and very comfortable, it had everything we needed, the 2 gardens and entertainment room were a real bonus." Steve & Family from Leeds

We had fantastic time doing BBQ and watching movies in cinema room" Wisam & Nadia from Iraq

The room has been used by guests for many different purposes including:

Music practice

Quiet reading

Kayak storage

Mountain bike storage and workshop

Small meeting room

Planning room for Adventure Races

Preparation room for courses run at the Village Hall

Large drying room

Training courses for small groups

Birthday Parties

NOTE: Please bring your own CDs/DVDs to watch/listen to. There are two Wii controllers but feel free to bring your own or extra if you want to play multiplayer.
